22 Jan Garden Route Classic Tour – South Africa – 3 Nights
Depart Cape Town and travel along Route 62 to Barrydale for lunch. After a short lunch break continue to Oudtshoorn which is the ‘feather capital’ of the world. Visit a working ostrich farm. In the late afternoon check into your accommodation. Dinner at your hotel & rest of the evening free at leisure.
Day 2: Friday – Oudtshoorn – Knysna – Plettenberg Bay
After breakfast enjoy a morning tour of the Cango Caves – one of the natural wonders of the world. Continue to the lagoon side town of Knysna – the gem of the Garden Route. Embark on a fun and adventurous cruise to and into the Knysna Heads (weather permitting) on board the Three Legs Rivercat – one of the most advanced river cruisers ever built. On return to the mainland, continue the journey to Plettenberg Bay for the following two nights. Freshen up before dinner at your lodge.
Day 3: Saturday – Plettenberg Bay – Knysna Elephant Park – Birds of Eden
After breakfast, get up-close-and-personal with nature at the Knysna Elephant Park. The visit presents you with the opportunity to touch & feed and these gentle giants. After lunch (to own account), visit Birds of Eden – the largest free-flight bird aviary in the world. You can choose to join the optional tour for the Whale and Dolphin boat experience (weather and time permitting) before returning to your lodge.
Day 4: Sunday – Plettenberg Bay – Port Elizabeth – End of Tour
After breakfast and check-out formalities, enjoy the final leg of the Garden Route to the beautiful Tsitsikamma National Park. Enjoy a walk along the suspension bridge across the Storms River mouth gorge which offers visitors incredible views and photo opportunities. The tour terminates in Port Elizabeth at approximately 18h00 with drop-off at the airport or your Port Elizabeth based hotel.
