Itinerary

Day 1: Adelaide
Arrive in Adelaide, transfer & check in to your hotel. Reast of the day is free at leisure for you to explore the city. Overnight in Adelaide.

Day 2: Adelaide – Quorn
After breakfast travel through the vineyards of Clare Valley to the town of Quorn for the night. Rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight in Quorn.

Day 3: Quorn – Beltana
After breakfast take the day to explore the amazing scenery of Flinders Ranges, the largest mountain range in South Australia. The colours here are remarkable: as the day stretches out, the mountains shift from mauve mornings to midday chocolates and ochre-red sunsets. Overnight in Beltana.

Day 4: Beltana – William Creek
After breakfast follow the Oodnadatta Track, strewn with ruins of failed early settler activity, along the route of the equally unsuccessful original Ghan Railway route. Visit the dry salt lake of Lake Eyre and take a dip in the remote thermal springs. Overnight in William Creek.

Day 5: William Creek – Coober Pedy
After breakfast travel to the unique opal mining town of Coober Pedy, where people live underground to avoid the heat. A guided mine tour gives insight to the mining process and the importance of opal to the area. Enjoy your overnight stay in Coober Pedy like the locals by sleeping in an underground hostel, a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Day 6: Coober Pedy – Kings Creek
After breakfast take in the vastness of the Outback on a driving day, then bed down in a swag (canvas bedroll) or tent under the Outback sky. Overnight in Kings Creek.

Day 7: Kings Creek – Uluru
After breakfast enjoy the morning taking in the scenery or by going on an optional 4km walk through the gorges and valleys of Kings Canyon of Watarrka National Park. Transfer to Uluru. Overnight in Uluru.

Day 8: Uluru
Wake up before sunrise to have a quick breakfast & to do the Mala Walk around part of the base of Uluru (Ayers Rock) while learning its significance to the local Aborigines. Visit the cultural centre to get a better understanding of the area. Overnight in Uluru.

Day 9: Uluru – Alice Springs
After breakfast travel to the rock formations of Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) and, heat permitting, walk through the Valley of the Winds to explore the surrounding area before continuing onto Kings Creek. The tour ends upon arrival to Alice Springs in the evening. Transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
